I haven't done maths for a while, but I seem to remember the process to involve taking out the Greatest Common Factor of each term, putting it up front, and multiplying it by what is left.

The largest factor that can be pulled from both 6x^2 AND 9x is going to be 3x... and the final result will be:

(3x) (2x+3)

here are the steps included
factor out a 3x from 6x and 9x
3x(2x+3)
and then you cant factor anymore
**i just took a test on this in school :)
you can check it because 3x * 2x = 6x^2 and 3x * 3 = 9x
