Victoria (Alexandrina Victoria; 24 May 1819 – 22 January 1901) was the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland from 20 June 1837, and the first Empress of India from 1 May 1876, until her death on 22 January 1901.
Her reign lasted sixty-three years and seven months, longer than that of any other British monarch (her contemporary, Franz Joseph I of Austria, ruled for 68 years).

Queen Victoria was born in Kensington Palace (later Princess Diana's home}, when her Uncle King George V died she was next in sucession because the King didn't have any children. But when he died, she was a child and her mother, the Duchess of Kent acted as regent until Victoria came of age, When she turned 18, she was formally crowned at Westminister Abbey in 1837,
A few years Later, she married Prince Albert of Saxe-Coberg, whose family name was Gotha. Albert and Victoria were distant cousins {just as the present Queen and her husband are} when they married. The royal couple and their children moved from Kensington to Buckingham Palace, and BP became the official seat of the Monarch. Just as the Windsors do every yr, Queen Victoria and family would spend Aug and Sept at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, Victoria mourned for her husband for the rest of her life.
The Scotsman John Brown was only a close friend to the Queen, so if you've read they were more then friends , it's not true. Not only are all of the royals in Europe are related to the Windsors through Queen Victoria, but they are also related to Queen Margarethe II of Denmark through the marriages of the children of King Christian IX. All 6 of his children as well as all 9 of Queen Victoria's children married into other
royal houses and vice versa.

1837-1901, the longest reigning monarch I think, Thatcher said we need to return to Victorian values when baby farming, prostitution and Garotting in the street by thugs was all common place, ah well, not much has changed then. Good luck with your project. Oh, yes and she never ever said "We are not amused." put that in your project is a common mis-quotation.

She didn't RULE ENGLAND, she was Queen of the United Kingdom, that includes Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland too. All different from English people. As well as that she was Queen of Canada, Australia etc too, in fact when she alive the British Empire was at its height. They used to say that the sun never set on the British Empire as it was so huge.
