Is this going the way of Y2K with computers. I mean whats the big deal? If you have a computer just download the new software. For central clocks like cellphones and cable modems ect. I am sure those company have software techs whose jobs are riding on a smooth transition. For everything else just set you clocks ahead before you go to bed

People HATE change, people hate INCONVENIENCE, it might make them have to sit down and manually do somethings and that will take time out of their busy days.

They've known about this for two or three years , people with old computers like mine will just have to go in and change them manually. Clocks, vcrs, dvds etc.

Yes it's a pain in the butt to hospitals with equipment but the techies will be changing or doing patches for it . Same with school clocks.

Our society today has become so me me me , if it inconveniences me , it's a MAJOR problem.

Chill people were late when they did in April for the last 25 years, you'll adapt, you're more resillient than that.

it's not a big deal for regular people like us, but for businessmen who's computers aren't ready for this, there may be problems. It's all about the stock market. They are getting up to the second numbers, but if all of a sudden the time isn't right, companies can loose millions of dollars.

I know it sounds stupid, but y2k was pretty stupid to. How much extra memory could another 2 digits possibly take up. Had absolutely no programmer thought "hey, we're pretty close to the millenuim, what's gonna happen then". Although the end result was pretty lame. The worst thing that happened as the result of y2k, was that a guy got charged a couple thousand dollars for an late video because the computer thought that he had it since the 1900.

Daylight savings is a non issue except for the resetting of clocks, Also the change in daylight savings time is unnecessary, it doesn't change energy consumption, it just is lighter longer closer to winter,

i think the media puts way to much effort into this kind of non event. it seems some are not happy unless they are doom saying.give it a rest. i like to think that most of us in north America are good critical thinkers and can figure out what is important and what is just a small blip on the radar.
