It is possible. they are used to their mothers sounds and heart rate by the time they are born. not having that anymore is something they will miss. if you adopt give the baby something familiar when he cries. hold him close to your chest where he can hear your heart beat. it may sooth him.

I'm sure it's possible, as they were formed in your stomach and heard your voice all the time. So they may grieve the first few days, but infants don't remember alot, so if that is true, I don't think it would last that long.

Interesting question. I am adopted and have 2 adopted kids. Naturally we knew the sound of our birth moms voice so I guess it is possible- of course I do not remember myself. But it seemed that my 2 adopted kids never seemed to go through this- they knew my husband and I to be mom and dad from the moment we brought them home from the hospital.

It's called the Primal Wound and it does hold some merit but not for everyone.

I guess it is possible. By the time they are born they know their mothers voice. If that is suddenly gone it may cause them to grieve.
