1. Hardships:

Many people were ruined after the Depression. They all went to California to look for work because it was the only place still prosperous in America. Since there were so many workers, the farm owners could set the paying price at any price they wanted, for if workers complained about the price, thousands more would take their place. Since so many people came to California, it soon became overpopulated and Californians were not happy. The outsiders were prejudiced against.
