At the school I'm going to we get to pick our own room mates and I've been talking to this girl for a little while on their website who is also going there she asked if we should be room mates and I like her alot but what kind of things should we ask of each other before we agree to live together?

Congratulations on asking an intelligent question. Here are a few things to consider:

Is one of you a morning person and the other a late sleeper?
When do you prefer to take classes and when do you prefer to do your homework?
When should quiet time be instituted?
Do you have complementary appliances? (One of you bring the microwave and the other the stereo system...like that)

Basically, you don't really have to be best friends to be good roommates; you just have to agree to a set of groundrules and be considerate of each other's property and personal space. Communicate, leave messages for each other when one of you is going to be late or do something out of routine. Keep your hands off each other's boyfriends and respect each other's privacy.

Find out how she lives. Ask her what kind of music she likes, when she likes to go to bed, how she feels about study time, etc. Be candid with each other. Find out what things about her, and yourself, that you cannot change (as far as living conditions) and what things you are OK with having different. I mean, if you are a complete neat person and she doesn't even know what clean means, you might have a problem. If you both like to stay up late then that's one thing you can work together on. Good luck!

of course you should ask the obvious stuff. musical preferences, and other areas of compatability. but you should also find out what each of you could bring into the arrangement. things like, sterios, small refridgerator, microwave oven, window a/c unit, television set, dvd player, etc. if your dorm room is like most that i've seen you won't have room for two of every thing.
