You can't and you'll always be lokking for that one shot. You'll never have a normal/best-friend relationship once he finds out. It puts that person in difficult situation when it comes to other friends, family and spouses. Your attraction is sexual and you're masking it as something it's not. Don't kid yourself. Move on with your life and stop wasting two people's time. Your commitment is far greater than his. You know it's not going to work but yet your willing to hang on in hopes of that one chance. These are harsh words to accept but it's reality. I'm not saying to sever your relationship but be realistic and establish another "best friend" relationship. Something more along your preferences. You'll understand one day.

Will power is the key!
In past I have often not been able to resist temptation and most times I found that if the person really is a "best" friend that he will refuse and still remain friends. In some cases it even formed a closer bond between the two of us. I also found that to get it out of the way made for a closer relationship and I was able then to just not have to suffer going for what I couldn't have and I felt better. In your case maybe you just better forget the whole thing and think to your self, It's like dieting, you have to give up sugars and after awhile you don't miss it as much.

If he's straight HE'LL stop you! He's not going to go there. If this is a fantasy of yours, you'd do better just to stay away from him.

Gay men are gay, and don't change; straight men are straight and don't change. Gay or straight, we are sometimes attracted to people who are unavailable; we just have to avoid being in situations that might lead to inappropriate behavior.

Ummm... the same way you would stop the temptation with a gay guy who was taken I guess. Also, take a time away from your friend. He probably knows and it grossed out! I would be

umm you use self control. Besides it would be pointless to "seduce" him, if he is straight, because he's not going to go for it. Which will then leave you alone, and it could make your friendship awkward.

Or if you want to be creepy and weird, you could get him extremely drunk, and then he might be drunk enough to have sex with you.

The longer you are his friend and the more you know him, the less you will be attracted. Then it would be like doing your brother. If that does not work, just have fat, ugly friends.
