Just be her friend and wait for the fall out. Cause it's coming, and don't say I told you so! It won't help.

I think watching your mate go through tough times can sometimes be harder than going through it yourself. It breaks my heart to see my best friend make a fool of herself but I always hold myself back from telling her what she needs to hear because she is stubborn, as your mate sounds, and I know she will not appreciate the honesty. So I simply hug her when she crys, stroke her hair when she talks about how she is feeling. Short of that there is nothing you can do but just be there for her and when it all goes wrong, you simply give her a cuddle and assure her everything will sort itself out in the end. She will not appreciate you telling her she is in the wrong, along with everyone else saying the same thing. Just bite your tongue and be there for her when he breaks her heart. Having a baby is a huge thing but that is something she cannot undo. The last thing she will need to hear from you is 'I told you so'.

Give her the advice you think is right and then let her do what she chooses. Unfortunately, you can't make her do or think anything that she doesn't want to so just be there for her the best that you can. Atleast she's lucky to have a friend that cares so much.

It sounds like this man is immature, not ready to be a father and a proper jack the lad, unfortunately an innocent child is involved. This bloke must be made aware of his parental duties as a father and a good deal of growing up to be done.Normally when blokes like him join the army they get straightened out.Your friend needs to Wise up to the fact that this man will never have any money for a wedding,to support your friend and his child or child maintenance for that matter.she needs to put herself and her child first and leave this man as he is just a waster..........good luck.

Unfortunately, you are looking at their relationship objectively as an outsider and she is looking at it subjectively and therefore cannot see what is obvious to you.
All you can do is sit back and make sure you are around when it all goes wrong to support her. Try to resist the urge to say I told you so though.

if your friend won't listen...the only thing you can really do is be there for her when things go down. that is when she will see that you truely are a good friend ( not that she doubts it)
