i like to work in IDLE most of the time, and i have completed "a day of idle toying" which seems to be the main tutoral around for it, but i am still confused over how to create my own programs.
i particularly want to create games. where should i go from here?

If you already know some programming, the best Python tutorial is at http://diveintopython.org.
By games, do you mean Windows games? Python is a great language but probably isn't really the best tool for this.
