Its all about the spin baby! Its not a good thing but they cant say hey its so bad the British are leaving so they are trying to brainwash the American people into thinking its okay the British are leaving because "their job is done."
What does that mean? The British military is far more capable than the American military? They are just putting a positive light on a bad thing.

If the Americans withdraw before it's allies then you can rest assured that the word will see the US as a barking , puffed-up, toothless dog. The States has no choice but to stay and finish what they started, what all the Bush retoric warned the world about, no matter what the truth of it all was. History is rewritten every day and, guarranteed, a history student 50 years from now will have a new and improoved version from the one today. I think thats where the saying " take that with a pinch of salt" comes from. I should start a salt mine.

Obviously the British are realizing they want OUT of Iraq and the whole middle eastern mess, and their leaders are smart enough to do it. Our problem is that we have leaders who are the cause of the whole mess in the first place, and therefore the American Troops are left to pick up the mess. We could pull out, but then we'd be jerks for leaving the place more of a mess then when we got there, and our leaders don't want to admit they were either wrong, or defeated.

Because the Brits are allowed to do other things with their tax money besides waste it on wars with countries that didn't do anything to them in the first place. Here in the U.S., conservatives whine every time money is spent....UNLESS it's on the military.

Then they can pound their chests and chant, "We're number one!"

Basra is safe. There is no longer fighting there. Only half, so get your facts right, are leaving since there is no reason for them to be there.

The US military took on the hardest job, the Baghdad area. That is why we are still there.

When we get Baghdad safe we will leave too.

Look at the Kurds. They live in peace, thanks to us. They prosper, thanks to us.

Two thirds of the country is safe, thanks to us. Only the Sunni triangle is fighting and we WILL take care of that also.
