Pull old hard drive and install new hard drive and do a clean install of Windows. Once the install is complete, if you have data that you want to keep, plug it back into the computer as a slave drive. Do a virus scan once Windows picks up on it and then transfer any files that you may need. Once you've saved all the files format the drive and you will have another drive to store data in. This is a good idea for data storage anyways as you will not have it on the OS drive. I hope this helps.

You'll need to re-install Windows on the new drive. You cannot simply transfer files across.

You need a Windows disk to do this.

Unless you are really computer savvy, I suggest getting a knowledgeable computer tech to do this for you. There are just too many ways something could go wrong.

If you have the windows isk no problem, if you don't best to buy a norton disk off of ebay and use it to clean up the hard drive, I think if you copy windows from one disk to another it won't work. I know it wouldn't for me

Contact Microsoft (Assuming you still have the key code and it isn't a unofficial copy) Tell them to deactivate your copy of Windows so you can install it on another HD.

What exactly is the Virus doing? As it may be an easy thing to get rid of. Please update your question and I will help you as much as I can, bud.

Do you have any antitrojan, antivirus, or antispyware programs? Do you have a firewall? If no, to either question, no wonder you have problems.
