Okay, I'm 3 cm dialated and 70 % effaced. I'm on medication til' I reach 36 weeks, which is like 2 weeks from now because of preterm labor. Has anyone been on the medication for it, and did it hold you over so you didn't deliver in that amount of time? If so, how long did it take for you to go into active labor and deliver after the medication was gone?

It really depends on the woman and the baby. There are no guarantees when it comes to preterm labor.
I was on mag sulfate and hospital bed rest for four weeks (31-35 weeks) and delivered within 24 hours of stopping the medication. I was in labor for 2.5 hours, give or take 5 weeks. :)

Ive known women who stopped the medication at 36 weeks and didnt deliver until over 40 weeks.

Others stop the medication and go until labor within a few days.

Its different depending on the woman and the issue that caused the preterm labor scare.

I went in for genuinely preterm labor at 28wks. They gave me the shot to end my contractions and that i'm now formally late with my little guy. in the experience that your cervix continues to be closed then your opportunities are high very sturdy of donning to finished term. additionally, if the contractions have been brought about by technique of a UTI and you purchased that cleared up then your opportunities are additionally sturdy. My mom had a infant final August and genuinely have been given to a three by using a UTI. She stayed at a three for over 3wks formerly the wellbeing care provider precipitated her early. (The induction grew to become into for some unrelated motives.) in basic terms relax as much as achievable and stick on your wellbeing care provider's orders. If something happens between now and then they might attempt to end your contractions one extra time, yet you nevertheless have an somewhat sturdy probability of donning to term. sturdy success and congrats!
