cut and run is a liberal gold mine. think of the benefits for them:
-they get to surrender a war
-stop fighting and bring our troops home
-claim credit for bringing the troops home
-blame bush for Iraq descending into a bloodbath (yes, it can get MUCH worse)
I'm trying to decide if they feel better about surrendering or blaming bush. tough call.

'Cut and run' is obviously a phrase from someone who believes 'we' (it's not we who are there, but our fellow citizens, real people, men and women who have lives and family) should stay. It sounds like a cowboy phrase having to do with rounding up cows. Rather, why don't we use a more normal phrase, like leave someone else's country and bring our people home?
And no, I'm not all for leaving right off the bat, and yes I do remember lessons from other times we helped out other countries and left before the 'good guys' were in power and a lot of innocent people got killed. So I'm not totally against what you're saying. I just get tired of the typical rhetoric of certain ideologies.

You know, if we cut and run, terrorists will get stronger over there. Look what happened when Russia attacked Afghanistan. Afghanistan made Russia withdraw, and Al-Qaeda got stronger, way stronger, and they became the biggest threat to world peace in years to come. If we stayed in Iraq, we are stabilizing the place, even if it is a little. If we left, all of those lives lost would have been lost for nothing.

Who's cutting and running? I say Mission Accomplished, time to withdrawl and let the new Iraqi government take over. We've toppled Saddam's evil regime and eliminated their ability to create Weapons Of Mass Destruction. Who cares that his government was mostly secular and was a good balance point to Iran and Saudi Arabia in the middle east, and that it might become an Muslim Caliphate more brutal then Iran.

There will be attempts at genocide at many levels. Unfortunately, a certain group (the caring, sensitive ones) could care less as long as it isn't American lives. The reality is that the same hate that will attempt to eliminate an entire religious sect will be coming to a community near you shortly there after.

There will be a full scale civil war, both shites and sunnies want control of the oil fields!
So Bush should just drain the oil dry, before he pulls out!
And let them go back to fighting over camels and sand dunes!

Cut and run? What are you talking about? Your hero himself told you the mission was accomplished! Did you not get that memo?

the same amount that would die if the u.s. stays, but the timeline will be different
Bush won't ever be forgiven for this war, but at least he can partially rectify the situation by pulling troops out since they are only delaying the inevitable

who cares? as long as i get free health care, maybe a free car and free gas, or a free college education, or free housing, or maybe free groceries, well just about any other "right" I can dream up and vote for myself, as long as i can fellate my gay lover in front of your children and call you a racist and a hompohobe if you dare complain, what the hell do I care about the people that were stupid enough to buy into BushHitlers's empty promise of freedom? purple thumbs indeed! what losers!
