I so agree with you. However, American Idol does this type of thing every year. Not sure if it's manipulated or if the voting really does this - but there seems to be a young "geeky" kind of guy in the last two seasons in the top 12. This year is Sanjaya, last year is was Kevin Covais. I think they keep one of these around for entertainment factor/controversy but know they'll be voted off in the next couple of rounds. Sundance was manipulated the whole time this year right from his audition. It's how the perceive the contestant with the camera. However, I don't believe Sundance was a consistent performer and that really hurt him. Besides, it really is a girl's year this year and I don't see the guys being a strong presence. However, I could be wrong. Sanjaya will go within the next couple of rounds. Although, it is heartbreaking because Sundance had a family and really could have used the tour with the top 12 for a good money earning head start. He'll get some jobs though, you see.

Sundance does not require any further lessons, he is all set to join the music industry as is.
I think it is the kids that need the most help that should stay on until the end of the series so they can receive the most benefit, those who already have talent such as Hudgson were just as successful if not more so without the need for further lessons.
Besides I would want to keep Sanjaya just to put warm comfort food in his belly, so he can respond to the type of cruelity I have read in the media thus far. If you were Sanjaya there would be a law suit started already for some of your comments.
Sundance does not require food, or friends he is overfed enough as it is.
Finally I believe that Sanjaya is there to make money in the music industry, and since he is receiving the votes to back him, I think he will have many investors when he is finished.
Cash is cash is cash, whose hand it comes from is not important to the 'melting pot' ethics if I remember correctly.
Change that value and you might be able to back your complaint otherwise cash is cash is cash at the end of the day Sanjaya has the votes.
I hope he learns to become a strong character in the outcome, and I hope they keep him long enough to teach him how to handle your rude comments.
Cry in your wheaties the money is already on his future in the music business or so the votes have shown up to now. I don't think any school yard bully can touch him now, its all a numbers game from here in.
Read em and wheap
I wish you the best of luck Sanjaya !
My heart is with you and may the fleas of a thousand camels infest those who are jealous of you and all you want to offer !
Perhaps you will be the next Julio Iglassis

Sanjya Malakar can not sing, he can't hold a stage presence, and he won't make any money in the music industry, lets think about the comment that was posted about the "cash, cash, cash" Covais isn't rolling in the dough, neither are 99.9 percent of the top twelve contestants from years past. He'll be gone if not this week, then the next.

There's been a lot of Sanjaya bashing lately. Unlike Antonella, I don't think he deserves such harshness.
Sanjaya is young, and that's just it. He hasn't figured out who he is yet. And because of that his performances are "weak" and uninteresting. But at least he has some humility. Every Thursday he gets up there looking terrified because he knows where he stands in comparisson with the other contestants. He knows that he doesn't meaure up to them and I don't think he's asking to go home, but I don't think he wants someone that's better than him to go home either. He's doing the best he can, and what we're seeing is the best we're going to get. Give him some props for having the courage to get up on stage every week to do his best (that consequently is never enough for america).
That said... I do think it's his time to go home. But remember Kevin from last year? He was on for what seemed like week after week... and it was the same thing with him - too young. Sanjaya's time will come. And while we shouldn't be voting for him to stay, we shouldn't be bashing him either.

Sanjaya can not sing and I also thought Sundance rocked--but they always say instead of idol people were idle and didn't call in or vote. So it's America's fault like every other weak deal that goes down --is what Simon says --this is not my excuse personally--but u got it right about ur evulation

I agree with you. Sanjaya is alright, he has a nice soothing voice BUT he doesnt use it right at all. He has no confidence or energy. It's sad that some of the best had to go though. =[
