Mom's age MINUS 27 is YOUR AGE
5 years from now you will be 5 years more than you are now (y+5)
8 years ago, your mom was M-8
TWICE your age in 5 yrs

3rd column--you in 5 yrs
4th column--2X you in 5 yrs

IF she is 27 when you was born. and that was 8 years ago. That means now she is35. and will be twice as oldas u in 5 years time meaning she will be 40 years old and you will be 20

diff between ur age n ur mom;s age is 27
let ur age be x n ur mom's age be y
therefore y = x +27 - 1st statement
8yrs ago, (y-8) = 2(x + 5)
we know that y = x +27
therefore
x + 27 - 8 = 2x + 10
x = 9
u r 9 years old!!
