Your problem was worded weird....
it means one of two things:
last year (y-1) = a^2
next year (y+1)=b^3
when will you be a perfect square AND a perfect cube?
When you are 1.
column 1= your age
column 2= your age squared
column 3 = your age cubed
000
111
248
3927
the only time your AGE will be a square AND cube numer all matching is when you are 1.
OR....
when will your age MINUS one be ANY square number AND your age PLUS one be any cubed number... (We are looking for perfect squares and perfect cubes that are a difference of 2)
25, 27
you are 26... a yr ago you were 5^2, next year you will be 3^3
64 is 8^2 AND 4^3 so that is the time when you will be cubed & squared.
If you are 26, you have 38 years to wait.

you are 26
25 last year (5x5) and 27 next year (3x3x3)
you must wait 55 years....26+55=81
81=9x9
81=3x3x3x3
therefore 81 is both square and cube

The idea with homework is to use your brain and to learn things. Asking other people to answer questions for you is plain cheating and pointless. You may as well join the unemployment benefit que now, why bother waiting.
