well everthing i have ever lernt in school has taught me that a MAN MADE utopia doesnt exist... any society controlled by man is still somehoe dysfunctional... read brave new world or something, however you could to focus on more of a spiritual aspect and how an accord with nature provides man with proper development or something, its treading a fine line but its probably differnt to everyone else. Anway it sounds pretty hard so good luck

My little utopia...
Ok. If I was creating a perfect little society I would say, allow everyone to be what they are. One person has a passion for food. He can be the chef, the one in charge of food & drinks. Another one is good with money, he can be our banker/financial adviser. The intellectual can be our teacher/philosopher/writer. Someone else who's a good leader can be the head of our little government. We would all be on a first name basis. We would be kind to each other. There wouldn't be crime because we'd all be so happy with our jobs & lives that we wouldn't have to lash out. We would respect & like each other & not want to hurt each other. There would be no need for punishment. The guilt of hurting a friend or letting the town down would be punishment enough. If someone tried to hurt anyone, they would be banished from our perfect society & have to live in a regular society elsewhere. Everyone would live out their dreams & do what they were meant to be. Everyone would be honest & open about their feelings. If the town needed someone with a speciality that we didn't have
(mechanic, doctor, plumber, etc etc) represented then we would send a scout to find someone & persuade them to join our beautiful little community. We would all take pride in our town. We would keep it clean & beautiful. We would have a landscape expert/gardener to keep it looking perfect. There would be a lot of grass, trees, a waterfall, animals. We wouldn't allow the population to get out of control & deplete our forest area.
It's just a dream. A true utopia can never exist. Though small towns are often like this. Crime occurs in urban areas where people don't know or care about each other. It's harder to hurt someone when you know his name. Easier to commit crimes against faceless strangers. Urbanization leads to many of society's ills: pollution and crime.
In its purest form communism is beautiful: a society of people all working together for the common good, all equal. It works in theory but falls apart in practice where it leads to extreme poverty & misery.
Capitalist society certainly has its ills but it has its advantages too. I feel fortunate to live in North America. I loved Europe when I visited though. A different pace of life there. They take time to enjoy life. They are not obsessed with work. Overall they seem to be healthier, happier people...
Good luck with your project! It's a tough one!

Get rid of all humans in your perfect society - erase them from your project earth.
Go back and re-create some ecosystem in Africa where the Gorilla is the top dog. An easy solution.
I don't see your project calling for it to be human. So, that's your perfect society.

dude, you need to read the utopian texts, plato's republic for instance, and utopia by thomas more.
but, in the utopia that i would create, i would gather everyone into a domed city, about 30 million or so, and seperate them into working groups. one group for waste disposal, one for defence & security, food, structural engineering, administration, communications, research & development, etc.
each working group will have a leadership team, of under-leaders, sub-leaders, and a leader, which would then report to me. the supreme leader, if you will. well, it doesn't have to be me, but there would be a supreme leader.
children will be raised by the state in carefully constructed nurseries. they will be allocated to work groups at 14, based on 6-monthly aptitude tests since birth. resources will be allocated to each working group on the basis of standing within the coucil of leadership, as follows: administration at the top, with the supreme leader acting as the leader of that group, followed by defence & security, and so on down to waste disposal at the bottom.
the basic idea is quite common, but to spell it out in detail i'd have to write a book like the republic. so thats just a sketch...

If we could teach acceptance and selflesness to children while they are young. If everyone believed....in fact I think there is a song by John Lennon named "Believe" which talks about such a society. You might want to look that up. I also believe that if women were given more positions of power rather than men it would be helpful.

If you want to be accurate, according to Thomas Moore, the man who coined the term "Utopia" in England of the Early 16th century, don't do anything. (I would not recommend turning in nothing as homework, but it would wow your teacher to show that you researched enough to know the following:
While "Utopia" in Latin is translated (loosly) as "perfect place" (eu- meaning "good"), in Greek, it is translated as "No place." There is no coincidence that the word has a dual meaning. Before due date, go to your teacher and present your empty hands, saying "Utopia in Greek, according to Thomas Moore who coined the term, means 'No Place'; therefore, here is my correctly completed assignment."
If your teacher requires something more, then you have to put the caveat (qualification) on it:
Utopias must be created from the ground up and can never be forced on people (they all have to buy in to the idea). They are always, "My Utopia" or, if you are lucky, "Our Utopia" as it will contain social controls that its citizens ALLOW to happen. In reality, then, all you have to do is put together your favorite things and create a charter (or list of societal rules) that you agree with.
Do not consider other's feelings or thoughts. If a person agrees with your ideas, then he/she may join your utopic society, and if he/she does not, then that person is excluded. If you want to have the "eye-for-an-eye" rule, then so be it; if you want cameras everywhere, then so be it. Others may look at your ideas as DYSTOPIC (utopia's "evil" half-brother - not opposite since they share the same elements), but that is OK. As long as you live under a set of rules and guides that makes YOU ultimately happy, then you have a created a utopia.
Remember that a utopia for all people (even vast amounts of people) is impossible since we all have ideas of what is good and right, but it may be possible to have many people live together who do agree on these things. Look at Celebration, Florida as an example - a city created from square one by people who all believe the same thing. Outsiders call it scary and cult-ish, but the people who live there say it's the best place around.
Good luck!

Look to the Bible. There are plenty of rules and guidelines regarding a Kingdom of Heaven, which, if followed, is possible on Earth. Anything concerning where stuff will come from can be answered as "The Lord will provide", which is true if you know where to look for them.
