You see this is the problem with you Joe. The reason we can't answer your questions "yes" or "no" is because conservative questions are incoherent.
Do you realize you just asked TWO questions ?
Question #1: Is a liberal smart enough to answer a "yes" or "no" question ? ( That's all you really needed to ask).
Question#2: Do you want America to win in Iraq ?
The problem with Question #2 is that you will presume the answer would also necessarily mean something it doesn't. If I said "yes", you would take it to mean that we should continue the war. But that doesn't necessarily follow. I would have liked to have won the war, but now it's obvious we have lost.

On the one hand, but, on the other hand...(joke by truman on economists),

Define winning. Colin Powell advised Bush in 2002 that if we invaded Iraq, we would "own it" for thirty years. We "won" the war quickly, but, in the process, destabilized a nation that was a dreaded enemy of Iran, destabilized an important oil producing nation, and, might have created a battle ground for sunni and shii'ite factions, a larger scale mid-east war. We had no plan for governing the nation, following, Husseain's departure.

The real world is almost never yes or no my friend, well, at least the world of decision makers.

Questions are rarely, if ever, resolved by a simple, 'yes'/'no' response. There are hidden agendas in such questions and pitfalls to the unwary. Ask any politician who speaks to the press. In the case of your question, does 'win the war' mean for example, by any means, morally / immorally. Does 'win the war' mean that the issues that gravely face Iraq are resolved/ignored. Does 'win the war' mean another step in the game of deception that has characterized this phony war?
If 'win the war' means : a) to ensure that average Iraqis can live their life in the relative peace and security that we enjoy; b) to allow American soldiers, many of them on their third tour, to return and be reunited with families and friends;

Then YES ! I want America to win the war in Iraq.

It's not a yes or no question

It's not a war that can be won

The U.S. invaded, took out Saddam and the Ba'ath Party. Excellent idea. I supported that completely.

But now, it's a losing battle.

The "terrorists"(actually different Islamic factions) are fighting each other with the U.S. in the way, and the U.S. will never be able to stop there conflict. They may prevent full conflict, but there will always be conflict between them, and the U.S. is only caught in the middle.

It's important that the U.S. hand off control to the Iraqis as soon as possible, before the backlash against the U.S. becomes worse.

Hey dumb conservative, not everthing is all black or all white. We should not have gone to Iraq in the 1st place. And there is no win!! Some questions can be answered with a simple yes or no..but there are other questions where a simple yes or no is not an answer to such a complex messy question.

I'm not a liberal but I would say an emphatic yes to answer your question and ask you if you thought a liberal may have a spelling problem and not know how to use the "check spelling"feature on here.

i would answer with a simple yes or no, if it was a simple question..then i wouldn't expect a con to comprehend that...you have a typical con black and white view point....

we CAN'T win in Iraq, i think that is pretty obvious now...and don't even think of saying liberals want troops to die..if that were true we wouldn't want them out, now would we?

also i want to say that i agree with everything Brett D said.

Mr White thinks you have to go oversees to fight a war. How twisted a view is this? Why cant we all support our troops from home so CNN Baghdad wont be able to tell the enemy that we are cowards. Why do you think that the Taliban supports Democrats. I would be embarrassed if I were you.
Yes I want to win this war but its obvious that there are too many friggin hippies alive still that dont.

yes. Using the terms Bush defined on the eve of the war, it has already been won.

remove Saddam from power - check
stop WMD programs - check
instill democracy - check

The war is over. Bring 'em home.
