I was gardening and making a new brick patio area off my front lawn. While shoveling the dirt out, I found some grub like insects. My children want to hold them and play with them, but I need to know if they are safe first. Can someone please tell me if they bite humans and if the bite can hurt you. (If it does: what will happen when we are bit?)

I do know that they are horrible for gardening. I tried to get them all out. Thanks for the info.

they pinch a little but it does not hurt and it is not harmful. let your kids hold them, they will be alright.

Well they do bite or pinch enough to make my 5 year old boy cry.

They pinch and it hurts! Regardless of that, they are horrible for the garden.

You need to have your lawn professionally treated for grubs.
No, they will not bite you, but they are gross and can totally ruin your lawn.
