The root of humble is humus or of the earth. By extension, a humble person is grounded. They do not self-abase nor do the over-inflate their egos. A humble person is a person we admire and wish to emulate.

When I think of humble, I think of a quote from Denzel Washington. He went home one time and was telling his mother how much he accomplished. His mother said that's fine son, now get the bucket and squeegee and do the windows. He listened and did his job for his mother.
He said when you "make it", part of the job is to give back to life, to society and to your family.

Denzel also said that his mother reminded him that her parents were preachers and they prayed everynight for my children and my children's children.
So he was reminded that he is where he is because generations have prayed for him to succeed.

To be humble is to succeed at life and to leave the bragging to others. To be humble is to smile at adversity and keep going with keeping your self worth in tact.

I hope this helps.

GOD bless us always.
