My dr just diagnosed me with PCOS. I started Metformin today. My LMP was 1/22/07. He isnt planning on inducing my period (last one was induced). I just bought a fertility monitor. What do I set the CD as? CD 5 or whatever CD I'm on? I cannot wait for my next period as I'm irregular.
SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE.THANKS

You have to set the monitor the first day of your period...If you miss a day you can just push the m button and it will go to the next day..you can only do this up to day 5 and then the monitor will not let you advance to the next day....It reads CD1 as the first day of your period...then it will tell you what days to test...but again you have to start at the first day of your period for the monitor to be accurate...there is no way to set it into the middle of your cycle only up to day 5 from the first day of your period....Hope this helps. Good Luck!

I agree, You need to set the monitor to the day you are on. It is important that the monitor is accurate on your cycle. Why would your Dr. not induce another period? If you are not achieving them on your own, then he should. If you are not satisfied with your healthcare provider, you should change, as there are plenty out there who would take your interests to heart.

You may find that with the metformin that your cycle becomes regular. I would actually wait a few weeks before I began using it, to see if you have a menstrual cycle and then begin counting. You may find in about four weeks that you have a cycle again.
