Neither. Computers were both around for them to do their work on. While Ritchie (and Kernighan) created C and were developers, Gates didn't really develop anything - he just assembled items that already existed and modified them somewhat.

None of the above. First, both are men, so if either were the parent of computers, in English, we would call them the "father" (in spite of the fact that fathers cannot give birth).
