I have read a lot of articles where a d&c is performed after a miscarriage or after an abortion. I am about 11wks. and need one to actually remove the baby! Does that sound right, or should I be getting some kind of vaccuum procedure? What should I expect from the procedure, which ever it is?

I sorry you lost your baby, yes they may have to do a D&C since you haven't passed your baby naturally.

I had a "missed" miscarriage also. It took my body 4 weeks to finally pass it naturally. It will happen & usually the hospital will do a D&C after you pass the baby. It is a very painful experience, so when you do start to bleed (alot) & cramp, I would suggest going to the hospital. They will put you on some pain medicine & let your body pass the baby. Good Luck.

Did you miscarry? If you did then only your doctor can decide whether you need one or not. I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks but did not require to have a d&c done.
If you are meaning abortion then you need to go to an abortion clinic.

It is up to your doctor as to what procedure is best in this case. Talk to him or her about your options.
