I think that it is not fair, in the land of the free , that there are bars for people to go and drink, and casinos for people to go and gamble but there is no place that people can smoke. I think that there should be bars that are for smokers and coffee shops that are for smokers etc. this way if you smoke you can enjoy both, and if you don't you can go to the ones that just have the drinks.

Excellent idea! Smoking is a completley stupid drug habit that does nothing but harm the smokers and everyone around them - and keeps a lot of third world small farmers in poverty and over-exposure to pesticides.
On the other hand, I detest politicians who think they have the right to dictate how I should live and what I should do with MY life. I think having a smoke in a public park is of absolutely no consequence. But then again I am not trying to get the gullible masses to vote for me.
After July 1st I will probably visit every public place I can with an unlit cigarette permanently in my mouth.

Well, considering that smoking is really bad for both you and the person around you, and I have Asthma, I think it is great. I get tired of going into a restuarant or out side in public somewhere and having to use my fast acting inhaler because someone is smoking.
My father died from lung cancer and it was not pretty. He is the reason I have asthma today. So do all my other brothers and sisters. My mother was in a perfect bill of health until she met him, and she developed asthma enphezema and now she has lung cancer.
Don't get me wrong, If a person wants to smoke that is up to them, but please don't make my choice for me as to whether or not I smoke. People make that choice for me though when they decide to light up.
Now I loved my father very much, and he did quit smoking the last three years of his life, but it was already to late by then. I have never had an angry word to say about anyone who smokes, but I do think that people should make better choices because it does affect everyone around them when it comes to smoking.

I have asthma, so I applaud any laws that prevent people from sending me to hospitals. Many people are barbarically selfish when they insist upon smoking and injure asthmatics severely. There are many people who cannot stand smoke, so it needs to be banned in public.

Well, it has been successful in Scotland, it is so good to enter a bar without choking on the smoke.

In my state you are not allowed to smoke in public places anyway. Huckabee put that into effect before he left office.
