I am a proud liberal. The problem with labels is that, quite often, they are misplaced. Most who throw around those words have little knowledge of their true meaning.

Republicans label every democrat a liberal when in reality most democrats are moderates. Also the Bush administration is very very conservative so anyone who doesn't see things their way, they and their supporters consider to them be a liberal. Embarrassment, haha, you are trying to be offensive, why would someone who is liberal be embarrassed about it? Why would someone who is very conservative be embarrassed about it. Perhaps you are intolerant of other view points???

I don't fear being known as a Liberal.It's a well known fact in community,where most of the population is Conservative.

But,then again,most of those people are actual Conservatives.Not the reactionary wing nuts that have taken that moniker for themselves.

Because the label 'liberal' has been distorted - BY MODERN LIBERALS - to mean 'I stand for government hand-outs to those who refuse to contribute, I want to reward people for irresponsible behavior, I want to confiscate from those that ARE productive to pay for those benefits, I want to allow abortionists to kill children in the womb without restriction, I never want to fight for or defend my country under any circumstance, I wany homosexuals to marry, I want anyone who wishes to enter this country to do so without any scutiny, and - most importantly - I want to punish anyone who disagrees with me...preferably by imprisonment.

Considering what is going on in "Conservative Nation", I am more proud that ever to be a Liberal.
Conservatives claim to be just that, while doing everything they accuse the Liberals of doing behind closed doors, or in the closet.
