I definitely answered a similar question a few minutes ago, but I'll just re-post my response here.

The Undertaker, by far, is the greatest wrestler in the history of the industry. His gimmick was the most original, and despite the scripted aspect of wrestling, you can still say that he was a pretty damn good performer, especially considering that he could lift his 300+ lb frame over the top rope. As far as entertainment goes, it got extremely boring to see the same cocky, egotistical wrestlers strutting down toward with no uniqueness to their gimmick. Everyone just thought they were a big bad ***--until the Undertaker came along and showed them what a real WWF/WWE superstar is. I can't think of anyone that is even remotely similar to the Phenom. He rules.

Hogan brought the Fans. All the wrestlers of the day can mock his cheesy look, his simple sayings, Even deride his ability, HOWEVER the fact they have a job today is because Hogan knew how to work a crowd. He was the best there ever was.
