hi if i have 3 computers running off of 1 linksys wireless g router, will the internet be slower. i want to hook 1 computer up to the router directly but 2 laptops wirelessly. will all the computers run at high speed. i have adelphia high speed internet. thanks

It depends on how much you will be using the internet on each of the three computers.

You could connect 100 machines to your network and if 99 of them aren't using the internet then the remaining 1 machine will have all of the internet to itself.

On the other hand, if you have just two computers, and one computer is is hogging the internet downloading huge files, then the other computer will be SOL.

The idea here is just because you have a bunch of computer on your network it doesn't mean that their access to the internet is equally divide between them.

The computer you hook up directly will have the fastest connection, but the 2 wireless laptops will be connected at best at 54mbs. As far as just browsing the internet you will not see any difference between any of the computers. If you set up a home network and are moving files between computers the wireless ones will be slower.

I am running 3 laptops wireless with 1 router and have not seen any reduce in speed.

it will slow it down some if they are all running at the same time but you can do it it should be no problem if your internet is pretty fast i have 2 on mine plus phone and they all work fine good luck

my opinion is that you will notice it if all 3 are on at the same time
