When is the US goverment going to collapse ?

I'm afraid that it will be sooner, rather than later. Americans seem to have a sense or belief that they are invinsible. That nothing could happen to shake their power in the world. Well...important to take those blinders off and see that the power is slipping. The EU is larger in numbers and they know it. They are empowering themselves...and are ready to take over the title of super power in the world. When commodities like oil begin trading in Euros rather than US dollars, which is just around the corner, America will start to feel the shift in power.

And no...I am not a communist. And I do not hate America. I just wish that the US would stop believing its own propaganda and start paying attention to the rest of the world. There's alot going on out there....which will have a huge impact on the US. Knowledge is power....but that seems to be lost on the US.

I very much agree with Top.

However the question is extremely ambiguous.

I suggest some possibilities - a complete change of power base from neo cons to liberals or even to democratic socialism. This could happen if all Americans were to vote - you never know - the environment might just stir such a reaction or body counts in useless wars.

A complete (It's already well completed) take over of Government by big Corporations as in a variant of "1984". The "Big Brother" type fascism is growing in America.

If America ceases to have hegemony in the World politically and economically (say with China/India/Europe establishing a more significant profile) then another possibility may eventuate. Jingoistic Americans, infamous for their lack of knowledge, that is informed knowledge, or caring for the rest of the World, will with cooperation of corrupted media and politicians provoke impossible military adventures, like a cut snake, and so bring America to its own destruction. Don't say it couldn't happen. Remember Rome, the British Empire even Imperial China! I do mean watch out for Nuclear Weapons - they're still out there you know!

I think it might collapse on July 17 2047!
