Unhappy with the Constitution? I would suggest that your happiness went away when you started reaping the consequences of many of your "new ideas".

A Person: In government? Yes! Pleases stagnate with the constitution and allow the private sector to manage new ideas, which they are much better at.

You know that the constitution is used for toilet paper to a liberal unless of course they are trying to take away your right to defend yourself. Or someone tells them that kids cant watch porn at the library. Then its the most important document ever. Same with the bible. Its only used to serve their purpose. Why is it so important to stop religion to these people?

I guess you just read the questions posted by others, and then develop your own twist on them....

To go back to an earlier question of yours...about Darwinism...new ideas are the back bone of adaptation, progress and ultimate survival. New ideas don't necessarily fly in the face of the Constitution...do you really believe that those boys got the whole thing right back then? You don't think the world has changed since then, and that adaptation is necessary? Without the new ideas and innovations, the US would be a thing of the past.

Gotta keep up with progress, my friend.

Well, would you prefer it if no new ideas are developed? That would be intellectual stagnation.

I do not believe that stagnation is good even for governments. Saying that the constitution is somehow the final truth that cannot be changed is very wronge. The American system of government has always embraced the idea of change, our constitution has been ammended several times to accomodate new realities. If we freeze our constitution we loose all our ability to respond to new developements.

well since the constitution was designed by the founding fathers to be changed and molded with NEW IDEAS and to change with the times...I'd guess it's a good thing....if we never came up with new ideas then we wouldn't have gone past the stone age......god forbid people try to improve on original ideas and come up with new ones, it's not like that's how we got where we are today or anything....

I'm going to take a guess that you are a conservative(obviously), a republican, you completely support the president, and you support the war and you think you support the troops...

it's alright, don't get mad because you can't come up with a good argument against what i just said..

Like we're reaping the consequences of the conservative's ideas?

Let's see-we have a military that has been pushed almost to the breaking point by a war based on lies, the people who actually attacked us have been allowed to regroup and gain new recruits because of our insistence on continuing that war,North Korea is being paid blackmail to discontinue a nuclear weapons program that,if it does exist,is pretty pathetic,China and Russia have expanded their militaries and have been making it known that they will oppose us in any military action against Iran, which was pretty much allowed to keep with its nuclear program until the only way to stop them is to attack them.

Yeah, that PNAC thing is working out so well.

Actually the constitution was ammended to allow taxation by the federal government without enumeration for what it sees as fit. Lobbyists ever since have had a field day for corporate welfare programs.

What new ideas has a liberal come up with? I've seen them try to bring back a lot of ideas that were thrown aside because they didn't work or they made no sense. Not a new idea in the bunch.

With stuff like the Patriot Act, it seems like conservatives are the ones who are unhappy with the Constituion.
