I began taking Loestrin 24 FE, last month. I began the pack on the first day of my period. I had sex that month and the condom broke, but I still got my period that month any way after only 2 days of taking the brown pills. This month I have not had any unprotected sex, and I am now on the 3rd brown pill and still no period. The closest thing I have gotten to a period was some heavy spotting on the first day of the brown pills. Does anyone know what is going on??

Your birth control is effective after the first day of use, since you started it on your first day of your period. It's unlikely that you are pregnant.

More probable, there are one of two things going on. First thing, it's completely normal to get your period ANY time during the placebo week. Sometimes I don't get my period until the 4th or even 5th day of my week off the pill. It's fine.

Secondly, especially when starting a new kind of birth control or even after you've been on it for awihle, it's common to skip a period. It doesn't mean you are pregnant or that you were pregnant, it just has to do with hormonal withdrawl and what starts your period while on the pill. You can take a pregnancy test if you are worried! Chances are you are just adjusting to the new pill and it's nothing to worry about. If you don't get your period this month, continue to take your pill as normal. Even if by some 0.1 chance fluke you got pregnant, the pill does NOT harm early pregnancy or cause abortions.

If you miss two periods in a row, definitely contact your doctor. It could be pregnancy or it could be that the pill is too strong of a dose for your body.

Relax. It'll be okay.

Edit: The pill is more than 93% effective!!! It's about 99% effective and depending on where you read, sometimes more. Geez. Read your friggin' pill pamplets people.

Your body will do this sort of thing for a couple months, and off and on while on the pill. Your hormones must regulate to the unnatural cycle and chemicals in the pills, this causes your period to lighten, be late, and just be off for a little while.

It will regulate though.

Use a second form of protection until your body does regulate to the pill, to ensure you dont get pregnant. The pill is only 93% effective by use. 7 people in 100 have babies while on the pill, you dont want to be one of those :)

Just take a test, then you will know. But realisically you probably aren't. Though as per the patient insert if you miss your period two months in a row (this month and next month) see a doctor.

Could just be the pill doing that to you but if you think you could be pregnant then take a pregnancy test
