The Patriot Act supplies the government the suited suited to inhibit non violent assembly and it serves to extra desirable inhibit human beings from disagreeing with their government out of concern of retribution. under the Patriot Act, the definition of terrorism is prolonged to cover everyone or any team that tries to deliver approximately replace for political or ideological motives. Do you think of our founding fathers could consider coming up "zones" for demonstrators, in the back of chain-hyperlink fences? Is that YOUR definition of a suitable to peaceably deliver at the same time? under the Patriot Act, the government has ordinary get admission to on your academic and monetary/banking archives as long because of the fact the government asserts that snooping by using your archives is “touching directly to a terrorism analyze.” What this suggests is that each and absolutely everyone a central authority agent has to assert to get get admission to on your archives is, “We’re accomplishing a terrorism analyze.” And, have self assurance it or not, your college or monetary business enterprise won't be able to inform you that the government has gotten this concepts. you're pleased with that, suitable? while library and bookshop archives are in touch, we've not basically a privateness interest, yet in addition a accepted replace interest in protecting our determination of analyzing supplies from the eyes of prying government officers. What everyone borrows or reads from a public library is no one else's business enterprise. considering that while became a public library a cornucopia of functional concepts for terrorists?

Ben Franklin said
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
People blame it all on Bush but I think the liberals
would have done a worse job.
The patriot act has not affected me personally YET.
BUT I see it coming and look out!

How is it that Republicans see free healthcare for all citizens as socialist, yet they have no problem with their own government infringing on their privacy and rights? Isn't that a little hypocritical.
You can bet your butt that if the Patriot Act was implemented by a Democratic government, there would ba rampant accusations of communism flying around this forum.
Another example of blind loyalty to a party.

No terrorist has shot or blown me up lately. Are you aware that it is easier for a local police department to secure a search warrant for your house than it is for the F.B.I. to invoke the Patriot Act. There are more vetting processes for the use of the Act than there is for a search warrant for your home from an anonymous tip. Congress passed it and extended it and if it prevents someone from attacking us again then good. Use it.

The PATRIOT act hasn't impacted my life in the least, other than increased security at the airport.

Not much, but I know my phone calls from overseas to the states are tapped. But if they want to listen to me talk to my family about aunt Joe, I really don't care.
(BTW Overseas calls to the states have always been tapped, we just know about it now)
My family is safer though.
