you can try putting that white junk on top, that trailer homes use, that is just a thick, thick latex paint...but it will eventually leak......the only thing to do is dig deep in your wallet, and have a new roof put on it....
My parents have a 1930's house with a flat roof in Southern California, and it has never leaked...they have put maybe two roofs on it in 30 years....but they replace before it leaks, however the california sun is very very hard on tar roofs...and it doesnt rain that much, but it does rain, and a flat roof doesnt have to leak if you stay on top of it

Depending on your climate, a flat roof is usually a bad idea. The aluminum paint works well. There is also a rubber membrane that has adhesive on one side and can be put down on the roof. It's called ice and water shield. If a small hole should develop in it from a nail or something, it is self-sealing.
You might want to check the wood underneath before you start any repairs just in case anything needs to be replaced first.

The aluminum coating is probably the easiest to do.
I've used a brand called "Alumination". Comes in 5 gallon pails. Mix it up real good, dump it on the roof, and mop it all over the roof. It has small fibers in it to keep it together and fill cracks and holes - it is not just a paint, but a sealant and weatherproofer.
It seals cracks and adds a small amount of insulation factor.

There is, but most people use either the aluminum paint stuff, or better yet- a latex treatment made for falt roofs...at any hardware store...it will fill all the cracks, coat your whole roof and flex with the temp changes.
Hopefully the plywood and studs are not rotten.

All flat roofs leak eventually. It's the law. Manufacturers of sealants know this and several products are available. They will all be temporary solutions (No pun intended) but at least will put the problem off for five or so years.

A flat roof only has a certain life span, find out how old yours is and then decide do you want a temporary repair or is this the time to consider replacement. Depends on your own circumstances.

Aquaseal is brilliant.
You need to replace felt about every 10 years.
B&Q do a cheap corregated fibre roofing, but you need some slope to make it work.
