Kingdom Hearts 3 hasn't been announced and is not even in production yet. The creator did announce a new project would be announced later this year, which may or may not be Kingdom Hearts 3. When asked in a statement from disney when work on kingdom hearts 3 would begin, he said he was too busy with other projects.
So, we probably won't being seeing a third installment in the series for a few more years.
Kingdom Hearts I-2001 (JP) 2002 (US)
Kingdom Hearts II-2005 (JP) 2006 (US)
There has so far been a four year difference in the games, so the latest to expect it would be 2010, but more than likely something more solid will be announced in 2008.

Well since Kimgdom Hearts 1 was released in 2002, and Kingdom Hearts 2 was released in 2005 that means that in 3 more years (2008) Kingdom Hearts 3 will be released. And if this continues, Kingdom Hearts 4 will be released in 2011.
So if your are planning to buy a PS3 to play Kingdom Hearts 3 you should wait till 2008 for a maybe "price drop".

I think 3 has to come out first which is still in the works and doesn't even have a release date yet. We might not see KH3 until sometime next year or even longer. I haven't heard anything about a fourth one.

the release dates of the previous games have nothing to do with the release of kh3. kh3 hasn't even been started yet. the creators are finishing up the next ff game and plan to start kh3 after that. so expect kh3, at the earliest late 2009, i expect kh3 by mid 2010.
kh4 no one knows about, and right now no one really cares about because 3 is still a long ways away.
