Liberals think they know what is better for me than I do. They say they believe in personal freedom, but only mean it if they agree with what I am doing. They need to get their nose out of my business and their hands out of my pockets.
Same goes for so-called "conservatives" who want to go around legislating their religious beliefs.
Jesus is not a liberal. He does not condone "alternative lifestyles." He forgives. There is a difference.

The "lies" about liberals are really overgeneralizations. Some people look at the most radically liberals ( http://www.zombietime.com/hall_of_shame/ ) & act like that's what all liberals are like. That isn't fair, but THAT is where they get these ideas.
But it is also inaccurrate to say "Jesus was a liberal." Not that it would be fair to say he was a "conservative" politically. He actually steered away from anything political.
Jesus wanted the poor to be taken care of.
But ....
... the liberals want to take money from the rich to pay for programs for the poor. (Sounds more like Robin Hood, than Jesus Christ)
Jesus showed love to the "sinners" by saving the woman caught in the act of adultery.
But ....
... he didn't back down on saying she was wrong. ("Go & sin no more.") I can imagine liberals screaming, "Who are you telling her what to do with her own body!"
Jesus taught us to obey our government & pay our taxes
But ....
... does that mean he would have wanted a big government & voted for a politician who advocated fixing things by higher taxes?
And that's not even getting into late-term abortions, gay marriage & other politial issues.

I don't like the whole "entitlement mentality". Social programs have lead to the deteriation of our nations core values. Look at the poverty rates in urban cities since the 1960's - how have these programs worked? Sure our free market economy is not perfect. Show me a better solution that actually works in this world.
I believe Jesus would have been a Libertarian, not a liberal.

Liberals think that they have the only right ideas to cure whats wrong with america....they think big government is the way to go..that "the government" is the panacea for all ills and that the middle class, who pay all the taxes here, should fork over more to pay off the vote buying schemes the dems/libs have hatched over the last 40 years..liberals subscibe to the "it takes a village" collective fix it all over individual inititive and work ethic...maybe not all of you subscribe to all of this, but the majority do,,..I think each person should be responsible for himself...no "big governemn" helping and guiding hand there to tell everybody what to do...nope...liberals have it all wrong...thats what I dont like about them....no subsidy from my tax dollars for midnight basketball

Certainly not a 'liberal' as todays liberals would define themselves.
Do you really think Jesus was all for killing babies in the womb? Homosexual marraige? Light sentences for child rapists? Hand-outs to freeloaders so that they can support their crack habit?
Jesus spoke of hard work, integrity, self respect and FROM that, one could be charitable and loving to ones neighbor.
He DID NOT advocate taking from the hard-working and allowing the government to create a dependant society that trades votes for largesse.

I am a liberal...that means I pay my taxes, go to work, pay for my own insurance and really do not want to intrude into the lives of others because I do not want my life intruded upon....I am afraid of ultra Conservatives because they have an agenda to make everyone like they are they are anti individual...I am against someone who is against the kind of thinking that allows individuals to follow their own path and I am against someone if they control others so much in the work place that the workers are virtual slaves....other than that I really don't care what you do or think....It boils down to being against people who hurt others or make them into less than they are by stepping on them. So yes, you ultra Conservative nuts, I am against you, because you, along with child molesters, slave holders and thieves are in the category of hurting others...you are the ones who want me to think like you.
Jesus probably wouldn't be for abortion, but he would never throw the first stone...I think he would advise compassion in all areas

I don't like that we can't seem to get our sh*t together. If you go to an anti-war demonstration, you *still* see people with "Free Tibet" and "Undocumented Rights Now!" signs. Focus for three minutes, people!
Lots of liberals complain a lot but then fail to do simple things like vote or write their elected representatives. Finally, we liberals allow conservatives to frame all of the major issues and then spend all of our time trying to win arguments on their terms instead of on our own.

I don't know about Jesus. Here's my problem with them. They want to and do take my money and give it away. Then when that runs out they come back for more.Without even an accounting for where the first money went.I especially detest Limousine liberalism.
