anyone else had a hysterectomy with severe dysplasia?

i was just diagnosed with severe dysplasia. i dont want more kids, so my dr. suggested a hysterectomy. i know the recovery time takes a while after that. has anyone else had this done? are you happy with the decision? i would rather be healthy for my son, than get the leep procedure done over and over again....

Same here. I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy, so I wasn't cut open as much--3, 1 inch incisions were made. I feel great, and I was back to work within 3 weeks. The recovery time for the open procedure is longer--8 to 12 weeks depending on how well you heal and recover. Hope this helped!!, I've never felt better!!
