The guy who swung the stick to the other players throat, should he be punished and if so how? Or do you feel any attacks are just part of the game?

Hey tgfann, your pretty smart. I don't keep up with hockey, I saw a few games & like the sport. But, I saw the news & they went into a story about when violent actions cross the line. I thought it was clear that Chris Simon's actions were absolutely inappropriate. He could have killed that Ryan Howlleg. Criminal actions should not be out of the question.

ATTACKS are NOT part of hockey. And Chris Simon should be and IS suspended for 22 games without pay. Just the way you worded your question I can tell you're not a hockey fan ... which is fine ... I just wanted you to know that attacks are not part of the game. Fighting is though. And had Chris Simon been a man and dropped his gloves instead of trying to decapitate Ryan Hollweg we wouldn't even be having this discussion right now.

ummm sorry but attack someone with a stick is NOT part of the game. If Chris Simon of Isles had his stick alittle lower , Rangers' Ryan Howlleg would have a broken neck instead of stitches around the chin. That was dangerous and NHL aiready decided to suspend him. I say it will be rest of the season ,maybe 2-3 weeks next season. He is lucky the victim can still skate around and play hockey.

I really think he should be suspended for the rest of the regular season, post-season, and beginning of next season
