My local YMCA is $600 for a year's family membership. They said they base it on income and where you live. I know we have zillionaires around here, but do they typically USE the Y when there are so many high priced, fancy clubs? I thought the YMCA was supposed to be affordable.

For a whole FAMILY? Is it a nice club? That is about $13 a month for each member of a family of four- less than what you would pay to park at a meter when you go there each day.

The YMCA has the same bills as other health clubs. If you have a problem paying the fees most of them will help you out on the price. I was told and I quote "we don't turn anyone away due to the inability to pay!

Mine charges $49 a month for an individual membership and $60 for a family at my Y. Yours sound like a good deal to me.

seems about right here, we pay 22 a month for two people

$50 a month?No contract,a swimming pool,pretty good deal.Lots of kids,though,unlike Gold's or Bally's
