well one day when i had just finished putting songs into my blue 4gb ipod nano, it suddenly stopped moving... froze on me! It stayed on one song and didn't move. i left it thinking that i would work later, and it ran out of battery.
So can i get the apple store to fix it for me if i:-
1. didn't get it there
2.lost my receipt
3. is it for free?
please answer all these questions! Thank you!
(erm... anyway apple should even start to help me fix it if i didn't break it but it's the manufacturers problem right?)
Thanks for everything!!!! ^^

1. yes as long as it is still under warranty
2. yes as long as it is still under warranty, and it is registered to you.
3. only if you still have warranty. (or if it is a problem they know about in many nano's, and they previously recalled it)

Did you download any of the songs that you put onto your iPod? If you did, there might have been a virus on it and it would definately not be considered the manufacturer's problem. Either way, just take it to an Apple store and see if they can fix it. I don't think that you would need your receipt and had to have gotten it at the store for them to fix it. And if it's a simple fix, like pressing a few buttons, it should be for free.

By any chance, did you accidently push the HOLD button on the top of your IPOD?? I have before & forgotten about it!!! This would make the ipod FREEZE on one song & won't let you do anything UNTIL you push the HOLD button OFF!!

If not: then email Apple & ask!!

Hi.

Have you tried plugging your iPod into your computer, loading iTunes and clicking "restore my iPod" ?
