Jol said that getting Lennon for a million was the best bit of dealing for thirty years, although I rate Lennon I think he's talking crap, think of Anelka, Viera and how about Cantona. What's the best bit of business that your club or others have done, that includes buying as well as selling.

For me, i have to agree with you - Cantona for 1million was a dream, probably the beest buy of all time, with Schemeichel for £500000 and Solkjaer for even less.

The Henry buy for Arsenal was also a shrewd bit of business- it was a big figure but no where near his worth.

I wouldnt say Anelka was a good buy as he causes so many problems.

Getting 30 mill for Rio was a good move by leeds, if they sold him to any other club he would have cost around £18 million, but man Utd would always have to pay more.

I think Lennon may well prove to be a great buy but think Jol is carried away...

Jol was right, Lennon is the future of the Prem. The best bit of buying we've done is... Hold on, let me think...Oh yeah, there was this guy who called himself Ronaldinho. He turned out to be a pretty good pickup. Also, Rafa Marquez and Gianluca Zambrotta were very good buys.

when you look at how much clubs are paying for players today, not 10 years ago, Lennon is definitely one of the best deals. any club will now pay around 5 to 8 mill for an average player and probably sell him on for a lot less. spurs mark up on Lennon if they sold him would be about 200%. how much would CFC get if they sold their top players, i bet if they sold the whole team they would be down about 80mill.

I beleive you should be looking at Manchester United for the best business ever.

Simple: The money they have invested into their youth academy.

Giggs Beckham Scholes (to name only 3)

These players cost them Nothing, but regardless of the fact that they were not ALL sold, how valuable were they to the club over the years?

Also, cantona was extremely cheap, as was big pete!

The best deal was when Arsene Wenger bought Nicolas Anelka for under £1million and sold him for a hefty £23million!

In terms of the progress he's made over such a short time period,I agree with Jol.i.e. From relative obscurity at Leeds United(where, let's face it,he wasn't going to get anywhere!)to Tottenham and eventually England. ....A very astute bit of business I call that!

he is rite to a point but i doubt lennon is the best deal in a while what about thierry 10 million was a good price 2 pay for someone as class as him or 4.5 million for gilberto from arsenal especially as they signed him as a world cup winner

I hate arsenal but i must say arsene knows what hes doing in the transfer market, henry was bought for near to nothing(i think it was something silly like 500,000), same with vieira, even fabregas and flamini could turn out to be big money earners. I would say thierry henry would be the best bit of business in the premiership, even though they havent sold him he has made them plenty of money over the years

You can't top Peter Schmeichel. I hate Man Utd but I gotta admit this was the best deal ever in world history.
