I want to take my daughter to see the upcoming movie Reign Over Me with Adam Sandler. However, it's rated R for sexual content. I would like to know exactly what the MPAA association considers sexual content. Sometimes it can mean sexeral inferences but in other movies it can mean complete nudity. I would like to know before I take my daughter so I can make an informed decision

Normally the MPAA rates a movie based on language, violence, sexual content, and related adult themes. However, it does seem to be a tricky business since the people who rate movies are supposed to be everyday type people. If you want a good look at who the people really are, check out the movie "This Film Is Not Yet Rated." It's a pretty good documentary that basically shows that you shouldn't judge most movies by their ratings, but just talk with your kids about what's acceptable and not before watching anything.

Restricted-Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian (age varies in some locations). This signifies that the rating board has concluded that the film rated contains some adult material. Parents are urged to learn more about the film before taking their children to see it. An R may be assigned due to, among other things, a film's use of language, theme, violence, sex or its portrayal of drug use.

google the search term " kids movie reivews" there are some good sites that should pop up. THeres a couple pretty conservative sites that will list every scene in a movie , even just a suggestivve glance, ect.... and they will go into as much detail you could want.
