In politics, women. Women have better temperaments and do not have problems with ego. Ego is one if the main causes for diplomatic failures.

Anyone that believes women break under pressure, has been watching too many fictional horror movies.

It depends on the group that is being led and what their ultimate goal is. If the leader needs quick, instantaneous response, such as in a crisis situation, men are probably the better leaders. They are more assertive and naturally assume the "alpha male" role when needed. Women, on the other hand, are more people-oriented and team builders. When the group needs to organize and work together for a long-term goal, they tend to work better as the leaders.

Obviously, these are generalizations, but as a group I have found it to be more true than not.

It use to be a man. However becuase young women have become part of sports they have learned TEAM WORK and SUPPORT. Now days I would have to start voting for the women under one condition. They have participated in team activities.

So it is not so much a gender question as to a life experience question. ALWAYS hire the one with team experiences over the loner. They understand the importance of team and are usually not trouble makers but trouble solvers!

I would have to say a man is called for in this position and here is why....More than half of the world is of the Muslim faith and we all know how Muslim's feel about women. Can we live in a world where, regardless of what we do, half of the world will not listen or respect us. I personally like Condoleeza Rice but I also feel because of her gender, she is not the best person to negotiate anything in the middle east.

Women tend to go strictly by the book and are afraid to make any decisions that they are not sure about. Good managers have to be prepared to take risks. That is how businesses, grow or decline. Women are very intelligent and learned, but that is their biggest drawback.
