Star Trek. In the original Star Wars movie, Han Solo says the Falcon can go ".5 past light speed." Don't get me wrong, that's fast, but it's practically a crawl by Star Trek: The Next Generation standards.
According to my source below, warp one is equal to the speed of light. Remember, the Falcon can make 1.5 times the speed of light, but it's considered a very fast ship.
Warp 2 is ten times the speed of light.
Warp 5 is standard cruising speed by the end of TNG (it used to be warp 6), and is 214 times the speed of light.
Warp 9 is 1,516 times the speed of light. On warp nine, you'd make it to the Moon in .000886 seconds, across the solar system in 26 seconds, to the nearest star in a day, and to a nearby galaxy (2 million lightyears) in...1,319 years.
Warp 9.9999, according to my chart, is the speed that subspace radio travels in Star Trek. If you could go this fast (it's considered impossible for humans, even in Trek, but their radio goes that fast) you'd make it to another galaxy in only 10 years.
Compare that with normal light speed-It'd take 2 million years to get to the same galaxy.
Warp 10 is considered absolutely unreachable. The chart says the measurement's meaningless-"a starship at warp 10 would occupy all points in the universe simultaneously".
Note that some episodes have ships going past warp 10 as result of malfunctions or alien beings. Most of these were early episodes or were episodes set in the even farther future.

I'm inclined to say Star Trek, because their warp speed seems more convincing.
And it really breaks down to this: If they could beam people up and down, I think that clearly speaks to better technology and thus faster speeds at warp.

I would also have to say Star Wars, their ships were mostly combat vessels, while in Star Trek, their ships were meant to be science vessels used primarilly for education, and exploration although they had the ability to defend themselves.
I really like the Klingon Bird of Prey, and the cloaking device it used. " Everybody, remember where we parked."

I'm going to root for the under dog and say Star Wars. But really how could you tell which is faster? they both have warp capabilites. I think in this question it's just a matter of preference.
