I have a cd writer on my desktop and am planning on buying a dvd writer. Will I still need my cd writer or can the dvd writer also write a cd?

I have 2 DVD writers on different computers and both of them also write to CDs.

I guess that I would verify from where ever you buy the thing from that it does write both. I would be very suprised if it did not write both DVD and CD.
