Does anyone know a way round of starting a car after losing the immobilser fob for my car? We have the key but haven't used the fob for years and now it is lost and having changed the battery, the immobilser has kicked in and we can't use the car. Thanks.

hi there, there are several ways around this, 1; there should be an override button for the alarm/immobiliser on the left hand side of the dash board, if there is then hold the button in while you turn the ignition key to ignition on, the indicators should flash repeatedly have the alarm immobiliser is cancelled, if your car has not got an override button, then 2; go to the scrap yard, and get the infra-red receiver that is located by the front roof interior light, but remember to get one that has the fob with it, coz they will have the same codes, the other way is 3; in the driver side foot well remove the cover going down the side of the centre console, once removed you will see a control box behind the centre console (this is the alarm/immobiliser control box) there is two connections on this unit, if i remember if you disconnect the plug on the left it should disconnect the immobiliser, hope this helps Gary

Go to Peugeot with the logbook and the key and they can supply a new one but expect to pay lots , I lost mine for my Clio and when I went to Renault they quoted me GBP249.
