not who you are.
That is, a hero is someone who significantly sacrafices for others.

name any military, police, firefighter, doctor, EMT, etc. any person who lays their life on the line every time they go to work to protect and defend our way of life. remember all gave some and some gave all so we can enjoy the freedoms we have today. there are our heroes

Mother Teresa comes to mind...she was from a wealthy family and gave it all up to help the poor people. That takes character.
