In the continental US, 18 is the standard, although some states will run it up to age 21 if you are female. Exceptions include parental consent to join the military or marry, and of course the "emancipated minor" act which allows a self-supporting minor of 17 to establish his/her own home in states such as Pennsylvania. There are some states which assign adult status to 14 year olds whom may marry with parental consent.

In the US you are considered an adult at the age of 18. At this time you are allowed to live any where you want. In some instances, a child can emancipate themselves from their parents or guardians through the legal system, thus allowing them to live where ever they choose.

"leave home" isn't really a legal event.

If you mean "What age can you sign your own contracts?" such as a
lease on an apartment, etc, in the US the age is 18.

However, if you come from a particularly bad home environment, you
can go to a judge and petition for emancipation. If the judge believes
that you are capable of judging the validity of contracts, etc, then he
might grant this.

If not, he might recommend a foster home, etc.

At 18 you can leave on your own accord. Below that, you either need to be legally emancipated through a court order...or have your parents permission or acquiescense. Acquiescense means they haven't really given you permission, but they aren't out looking for you, trying to get you back home either.

My guess is you are not legally old enough to leave home or you would be "allowed" to leave instead of you just being "a loud" member of your home.
