i think a gene i.e either red or black will have the same effect irrespective of whether it is derived from the male or female

1.TREE DIAGRAM(depending on from who it is derived v will have 4 trees)

(a) (m)+(f)=(mb,fb)
(b) (m)+(f)=(mb,fr)
(c) (m)+(f)=(mr,fb)
(d) (m)+(f)=(mr,fr)

2. DISTINCT COMBINATIONS

it can only b 3
(b,b) (r,r) (b,r)

[here (b,r) is same as (r,b) from assumption]

First you are able to look on the ratios modern-day. note that the ruby adult males and red adult males are chop up about 50-50 and the ladies and adult males are chop up 50-50. a) ruby eyes are recessive because not one of the ladies have them. b) The ruby eye colour is sex appropriate because they don't look modern-day in females and are modern-day in 1/2 the adult males. c) the male could be x^R Y so each and each of the ladies are dominant (sex is determined by technique of the adult males because the female must have an x from the daddy) and the female could be x^R x^r so as that the adult males have a 50-50 threat of having both. d) the female baby are chop up 1/2 and 1/2 between the following genotypes because they have a 50-50 threat of inheriting both of the x's from the mother: x^r x^r x^R x^r e) red eyed adult males are x^R Y ruby eyed adult males are x^r Y because they ought to have a y chromosome. wish this enables :)

Female Fruit Fly --- black_f
--- red_f
Male fruit fly ---- black_m
---- red_m
So the baby could get

black_f/red_m
black_f/black_m
black_m/red_f
red_m/black_f
red_f/red_m

You'll have to do the tree digram yourself
