I have found them to be very nice, although some are a little put off by outsiders being there. Generally speaking they are welcoming to you because of the tourist dollar. Without currency coming in their standard of living can have a dent put in it.

I have ben there twice and also visited with friends who live there. Its a friendly place for tourists as they depend on tour dollars. Most people we had contact with were very nice. But it can be a different story for people who are trying to move there. Its a very very expensive place to live and things cost 3 times what they do other places because everything is imported. Also, the island is small, just 22 miles, and space for housing is limited. All new construction has to meet very specific specifications. If you are aprofessional person, i.e., doctor, lawyer, nurse, accountant, you may fare better than someoen who is looking for a service industry job.

im sorry but i dont think this is a very fair question.some people can be very nice and some can be downright ignorant and rude. its not very fair to classify them. if you are rude to them, they have every right to be rude to you. after all it is their home and you are just a visitor.
