Australis were the runners up in 1975, losing to the West Indies by 17 runs. The West Indies made 291/8, with a century from the captain Clive Lloyd, who was later named man of the match, and a fifty from Rohan Kanhai. The Australians made 274 all out in reply, the only notable innings being 62 from captain Ian Chappell.
