I have the Canon SD 600 w/ the underwater housing for it and it is very compact for my usage, mind you if you want to add slave flashes and whatnot it will bulk up fast.
Most Digitals have underwater casings available but you should check out its casing and cost before you buy the camera if you intend to primarily use it as a dive camera.

Good luck and good pic hunting....

First, I would recommend a digital point and shoot.

Second, almost every camera out there has an underwater housing. Sadly, the housing usually makes the whole thing bulky.

Maybe you can buy waterproof digital cameras that allows the camera and you to go underwater up to a certain depth without to worry the size or is it too bulky. Can recommend neither Olympus MJU 720SW, MJU 725SW, MJU 770SW or Pentax Optio. Can consider about it...

You can purchase ziplock bags with an attachment inside that will attach to your lense like a filter. I have seen them for SLR camera's.

Go to CVS or go to kodak.com, they have small disposable underwater cameras.
